Laynee Townsend & “Phoebe” — Titans Little Phoebe

Phoebe is a family horse in the truest sense — Laynee Townsend’s Aunt Reba raised and owns her, and her grandpa trained her. “She is a short round little thing, but she gives it her all when it comes to her job. She is honest. She has a big personality. Phoebe is my favorite horse out of all the ones I ride.”
This is Laynee’s first year qualifying. She actually qualified two other horses, but she chose to bring Phoebe — “she’s my main horse, that’s why I picked to bring her.” She’s also the 2025 Indiana NBHA Youth Barrels champion aboard her.
Between her mom, her aunt, and her grandpa there are a lot of horses at home — sometimes it’s hard to ride them all. Her grandpa Bub gets the most credit: they ride many of the same horses, so he knows them best and gives her the most help.
