Here is a little more about Cheryl and Drei Sieben who will be running at the BOTB in August.
Where did you and Drei Sieben qualify? We qualified at the BOTB last year on Sunday.
Tell us a little about your horse: Drei is 13 this year, so I’ve ran him for 7 years. He was orphaned at 4 hrs old, so my husband and I, along with a goat for companionship, raised him. He never wanted to be with other horses. He always wanted to be with us, and has definitely been one of my biggest challenges. The last few years he has mellowed out a bit, which has been nice. It makes keeping him fit a bit easier. Thankfully, he loves his job!
Everyone has a favorite place to run, tell us what yours is: I really don’t have a favorite arena. I guess a covered arena is my favorite.
Each year we all love to attend a favorite show, what is yours? I really like the State Finals shows. Lots of excitement running in the finals, and everyone from Michigan is there.
Give us a little more insight about you and your horse: I am thankful for my parents who have supported me with my horses since I was a little girl, and taking care of the farm when we are gone. My siblings Ron and Marika and their families who are always available when it’s time to hay or taking care of my horses if I need them. And of course my husband Mark who supports me and encourages me with my horses and barrel racing.
