Meet Ashley Havrilla of Hamilton NY
Here is a little more about Ashley and Redbull who will be running at the BOTB in August.
Where did you and Redbull qualify? Redbull and I qualified at the July Keystone Barrel Classic in Shartlesville, PA.
Tell us a little about your horse: Redbull is a 17 year old grade gelding that we’ve owned since he was 4. He was originally my mom’s horse until he started getting too quick for her (she’s going to kill me for saying that, ha-ha). She did a fantastic job of seasoning him and making him the horse he is today. Redbull and I have been competing together since 2008. He has a goofy personality, a huge heart and is easily the most high maintenance horse in the barn…We wouldn’t trade him for the world!
Everyone has a favorite place to run, tell us what yours is: Favorite arena would have to be the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY. The energy in the Coliseum, especially during the NYS Fair, is unbeatable.
Each year we all love to attend a favorite show, what is yours? The Rebel Soule (formerly the Heart and Soule barrel race). This show holds a special place in mine and my family’s heart as it is in memory of my late Grandfather, Pete Soule. Every year this show gives us a chance to remember all that Pete brought to the sport of barrel racing; especially his sportsmanship and passion.
Give us a little more insight about you and your horse: I’m extremely grateful for the support of my parents; Debbie and Lee Soule! Without them I wouldn’t have the opportunity to accomplish so many exciting goals. Also, my amazing horse show family who make every show more about the fun we have, than where we place (too many of you all to list)!

BEST OF LUCK AT THE BOTB
