- Tell us a little about your horse age, gender and who their daddy is?
Groovy is a off the track Quarter horse mare. She is foaled from ‘Gotta Groove’ and ‘One Grand Concept’. She was bought off the track by an acquaintance and she had multiple problems with her flipping over on top of her. Until I bought her being her 3rd owner and we became best friends instantly.
- State where you qualified
Michigan
- Name of Arena where you qualified
Barry county fair
- What was your placing
3rd in the 1D
- How many times have you qualified for the best of the best or are you a first timer?
This is my second time qualifying for Best of the Best. However I qualified on my dads horse last year and this will be Groovy first time qualifying for Best of the Best!
- Tell us about the arena where you qualified – producers, ground, size of pen?
The producers of the show are my amazing NBHA MI05 directors. The ground was a perfect mixture and worked it the night before the show. The size of the pen was decently large, about a standards size NBHA pattern. I used to show fair as a kid in that arena so it was bittersweet qualifying in my hometown in front of all of my peers.
- What has been your biggest win as a rider so far?
One of my largest wins as a rider so far was getting reserve youth state champion in Michigan in 2017.
- Who is the one person that made you the rider you are today?
My dad has always been my coach. Teaching me how to become a better rider and to get back on every time I fall. He always knows the right advice to give no matter the situation and is always trying to help me. Even though we always like to place bets on who is going to get the fastest time of the day (me or him), he always manages to root for me.
