Sarah Bujanowski from Coal Center PA will be riding Rare Luna Lightning AKA Luna they qualified at Good evening ranch Arena in WV for the 2025 Best of the Best!
What I love most about my horse is, Luna has a super “mare” personality and has a lot of grit and try. Shes the type that just wants to go to work and be left alone and doesn’t prefer all the love, treats and kisses! Sarah Nicholson, a great friend of mine started her, then Denise Evans took her on and that’s where I got her from! Our vet, Leah Mitchell, also owns her mom, Bebe so there’s a lot of great connections that make her super special to me! She has been such a blessing to me and has helped me accomplish a lot I never thought I would. She helped me run my first 20 second pattern and has countless pole wins!
How many times have you qualified for the Best of the Best? This is my first BOTB qualifier and I am beyond excited!
Tell us what you love about your farm or boarding days with your horses, I have my own little “farm” where I live with my husband, our 5 dogs, 2 cats, pig, 5 horses, mini mule and chickens! We bought our place in 2015 and made it our “own.” We started with just one horse (also by lightning sugar bull like Luna) and kind of took off from there. Now I have a daughter out of my original Lightning sugar bull mare and several others!
What is your biggest win as a rider? This is probably one of my biggest accomplishments to date!
Who is the person who made you the rider you are today? Terri Willey, i started riding with her when I was about 8, when her and Jeff Micheal’s helped me find my first horse, Matt. From there, my love for horses never faded. She is still my greatest mentor to this day and I am super grateful for her friendship. She pushes me to get out of my comfort zone , has gave me so many opportunities to jockey amazing horses and is extremely supportive and helpful in helping me do what I love in teaching the next generation and helping others in the barrel racing community.
Is there anything else you would like to add? Always believe in you and your horse and never give up!
