Kelly Bowser and Evidence of Arson get a good start in 2013

If you have been in the barrel arena at all most of you will know or know the name Kelly Bowser.  He is a tall, handsome, humorous man who always has a black cowboy hat and a smile, and who can run a set of cans better than most.  Kelly is well-known for having a conversation while rounding the 3rd barrel to on lookers on the fence or talking to you from the stands as you sit to turn a can.  He is a talent.

Kelly Bowser

Kelly not only runs Open classes but is well-known for his futurity riding.   The year 2013 has started with success, sickness, determination and back to success… At press time Kelly and his mount Evidence Of Arson aka Marley has won close to $30,000

Marley is a 4-year-old sorrel colt.  By Dash Ta Diamonds out of Dash of Vanilla who is by On The Dash. Marley’s first show was Oklahoma City BFA World Championship Juvenile Futurity and Slot Race. Placed 3rd in slot race for $23,000. Placed 16th in both gos of juvenile Futurity and they paid 15 spots but ended up 7th in overall average of Juvenile Futurity for $2,400.   Pretty good for a week at Oklahoma City!  Marley would come home not feeling his best from OKC and he would get 3 weeks off before heading to Louisiana.

Louisiana is home to the LG Pro Classic where horse and riders run with the best of them.   At the LG Pro Classic Marley ran 6th in first go of slot race to qualify for short go $100,000. Won $1,000 in qualifying round. Ran 10th in 2nd go of Futurity for $800. Ended up 8th in overall average for $1,300. With $100.000 on the line Marley would come up the alley with all the intentions of  taking home the $100K but  a slip on the 3rd barrel would place this team 10th No moolah :(.   But no complaints – Marely did his job.

Southeastern Arena Futurity in Unadilla, GA. would be the teams next stop – First go Futurity Kelly ran a 15.8. It was won with a 15.5. 2nd go ran 4th and ended up Reserve Champion – 2nd in the overall average for the futurity would pay $2,500.  After a long couple weeks of being on the road Kelly and Marley are happy to be headed home.

The future holds the Diamonds & Dirt Futurity in Texas in March, The Best Little Panty Raid Futurity in April and of course Fort Smith in May.

Danielle will tell you that Marley is a sweet,  quiet colt who runs down the chute every time with an expression that shouts out to you – I’m ready to win – showing his thorough enjoyment of his job. She loves this colt and can’t wait to ride him herself!  Danielle is anxiously waiting the day she can ride her Dash Ta Fame mare Pineapple Express AKA Apple.   We will be watching for you.

We wish Kelly the best and we hope to see him and Marley in the winners circle at each race he attends.

Until we see you again.  Enjoy each day because as we all know  “Life ain’t no dress rehearsal”

Love one another a little more than you did yesterday.
