- Tell us a little about your horse age, gender and who their daddy is?
CJ is a 14 year old mare. She is out of High Country Pharlap. She is different from the other horses that I ride because she doesn’t have any new style bloodlines in her, but I feel like that’s what gives her so much grit and toughness.

- How many times have you qualified for the best of the best or are you a first timer?
I qualified last year on one of my other horses Goodspeed Too Fame.
- Tell us about the arena where you qualified – producers, ground, size of pen?
Bay City was a really nice pen. It was a good size and the ground stayed pretty consistent throughout the arena. The producers were great, and they put on a very nice show.
- What has been your biggest win as a rider so far?
My biggest win as a rider so far would have to be winning the youth 1D and placing second in the open 1D in our NBHA district.
- Who is the one person that made you the rider you are today?
My dad has definitely taught me so much about barrel racing and horses in general. He is always pushing me to be a better rider and competitor.
