This is Axl Woodruff’s first time qualifying, and this year she won 1st place in the 1D, her first youth age class win. Home is a 40-acre horse farm with her mom, dad and two sisters, complete with trails, arenas, and a pond her horse loves to swim in with her German Shepherd, Oakley.
She learned to ride on her paint horse Oakley, who passed away after they got home from Youth Worlds last year. Since then she’s shared her mom’s horse Ella and now rides her on her own. “I used to be scared of her, but now I beat my mom on her own horse.”
Her mom is the person who made her the rider she is. And her message: “Love your horse and make sure you’re always having fun.”
