Mia Crone & “Stretch” — Rare Irish

Six qualifications on four different horses — Mia Crone knows her way to Springfield. Bull in Pee Wees, Diamonds Excite Me four times, Prophetic Expression in poles, and Rare Irish, who was 2022 Reserve Pee Wee Champion. Of Stretch she says simply: “She gives you everything she has with every run.”
Home is five horses, two Australian Shepherds named Earl and Daisy, and three cats — “more if you count all the strays, lol.” Mia loves the open space to ride and walk in the woods. Her favorite memories include nearly winning Pee Wees at BOTB in 2022 and winning her first saddle, and finishing her young barrel horse alongside one of her best friends.
Judy Bortner is her role model — “always got my back, but will be hard on me when I need it.” And her heart horse is Bull Man, a trail horse she and her neighbor’s family put on barrels together. They learned the sport side by side, won a lot together, and he earned his retirement.
Mia’s message: “If you’re struggling keep trying and keep pushing, it will be worth it! Enjoy every ride, you never know when it will be your last.”
