Heather Preisner & “Rain” — One Perky Angel

Getting here means a great deal to Heather Preisner. She qualified in 2025 on her horse Fina, but at 30 years old they didn’t want to make her travel — and Fina passed at the end of 2025 from colic. So this year’s trip carries a lot with it.
Her stated goal for years has been to qualify and get to the Best of the Best, and she’s doing it. She also won the Pee Wee Punchy Pearl 1D buckle with Rain this year, after taking the 2D Pee Wee buckle with Fina in 2024. Her horses live at home and the family boards, so she gets to make friends with both the people and the horses.
She couldn’t name one horse. Fina gave her all the confidence in the world — an Arab/Morgan cross who ran the pattern simply because Heather asked her to. Then came Trigger, a big-time barrel horse in his day who ran in Vegas, came to Heather for semi-retirement, and taught her what a finished horse with buttons feels like — lost to cancer in a matter of three weeks in 2024. And then Rain arrived in the summer of 2025 and helped heal her heart.
