Faye Shirey & “Trippy Dippy Dopey Dub” — Kiss My French

“Trip is my best friend. And when we both focus on our job we can run some fast times. Sometimes we just both get a little excited.” Faye Shirey’s gelding came from Kristi Hupp, who raised and trained him. He has a cool birthmark people think is poop. He is, in Faye’s words, “a very funny pretty boy who is very fast.”
Faye has qualified plenty — the first time she was four years old, on Snowflake — and this year she and Trip have won a couple of big open races. Her personal bests: a 14.9 at Crazy Woman and a 20.1 in poles.
Home is a house attached to the barn, so she can see the horses and the arena right from the kitchen. She also loves riding the side-by-side, fishing, and swimming in the pond. Her dad, Brad Shirey, is the one who made her the rider she is — “he will help anyone.”
